Wild West Relay

I can't believe I did it! At the last minute (3 weeks prior) I signed up to run the Wild West Relay on a team of 12 people, we ran from Ft. Collins to Steamboat Springs, 195+ miles over a 24 hour period! Well, it took us 29+ hours but we completed the race and, more importantly, survived it. It was an adventure to say the least, before our van of 6 runners left the start line we had already toured the Budweiser Brewery and bought a Chihuahua puppy.....that should help set the stage for you to imagine how the rest of this race went for us. The folks I ran with, whom I did not know prior to the race, were excellent to hang with for 2 non-stop days/nights of fun. We had great weather, but no sleep...It was CRAZY to say the least, some people dressed in costumes, including one guy in a red sequins evening gown (to run in!). Life is good ;-)
